At the end of our summer, Lea and I were at the Alongside Ministries International Conference in France. While there, I had a great conversation with a fellow from California. We wrestled together through what it means for a man’s … Continue reading →

I've been scanning the net and various Presbyterian sites in order to get the scoop on what happened at the GA this summer. For those who are interested in reading various responses from a significant presbyterian voice calling for renewal in the denomination, I would recommend a site sponsored by Presbyterians for Renewal at www.ga2006.com. I've only just begun reading the content here but it seems quite good to me.

I know that in the past, my affiliation with the PC(USA) has raised some eyebrows, especially surrounding the denomination's divestments from their holdings in multinational organizations in Israel and the ongoing debates surrounding homosexual ordination. If you're among those who seem confused as to why a fellow like myself would stay in such an apparently troubled denomination, I'd like to offer a few thoughts that are important to me and have informed my decision to stay in this denomination. Continue reading →
