The Köie apartment is located in Northern Tallinn in an old neighborhood called Kalamaja. The majority of the buildings in this area are wooden apartment buildings built at the turn of the century or in the 30s or 40s. The area is slowly being rebuild and brought back to life. Our house is within minutes of the bay, the Old Town and a great park. The park was formerly a cemetery but the entire site was leveled and all the gravestones demolished during WW2.
Here are some pictures of our discovery of the property and snippets of the building process. We update the pictures as visual progress is made – pretty slow now that we are into the detail phases. We’re hoping to be in by Christmas!
