Description: This has got to be one of the best boulders in Estonia. It is huge and highly varied offering enough potential for a full day of climbing for multiple climbers. The East side (facing the beach) is the easiest to access because there are no rocks directly under it. If you fall at any point, you’ll land in knee-high water. As you make your way around the boulder toward the seaward side, you’ll see that it becomes quite overhung. This section has some incredible potential for very fun climbing but make sure you have spotters and some kind of crash pad (I’ve thought about inflatable rafts as a possibility) to guard against falling either on the large rocks you can see, or twisting an ankle on the submerged ones you can”t see. Ehalkivi is well worth the visit. It’s a good trek away from Tallinn, but given all the good bouldering available in Lahemaa Park, you can easily make the entire trip well worth your while.
