The past week has been very tiring and long. On Tuesday, Matt, Leah, and I got in our rental car and started to make our way to a tiny town called Avispea. We were going there to have a meeting about one of the camps that were going to be put on. The family we stayed with had four little boys, ages 2, 5, and 9. They were very entertaining, and were fun to wrestle around with. I tought the oldest one some wrestling moves, and after he learned them, all he wanted to do was wrestle. We stayed with this family for 2 more days. On Friday we had to go to a different town for another meeting about a camp.
The town we were headed to this time was not as small but it was’nt big by any means. It was called Antslat. It was located in the far southern part of Estonia. Pretty much no one speaks English there so I did a lot of listening. They had there first meeting right after we arrived. Supposedly it went well. After the meeting was finished we went to the upstairs part of the church where we were going to sleep and watched a movie on Leah’s laptop.
When we woke up the next morning there were people already at the church ready for another meeting with Matt and Leah. I didn’t go to the meeting becasue i knew it would be boring, so instead I mowed he lawn. It was a really big lawn so it kept me occupied until there meeting was finished. After there meeting we got in the car and headed toward Voru, one of the larger towns in the area. We went to the store and got chicken, and salad, and al kinds of good stuff. Now that we had food, we decided to go down to the beach to eat it. After eating, we swam around for a little while. There was a water slide, and it was fun to go on. Matt wouldnt go on it. What a wussy. It was really fun.
The next day we had to drive all the way home. It was about 4 1/2 hours drive. To add to it, it was very humid and hot. When we finally arrived back home in Viimsi, Siim, his cousin Christian, and I wrode dirtbikes. The one I rode was really old. They said it was a classic. I enjoyed it a lot. It reminded me of riding motorcylces and four wheelers in The Yaak. The past week had been long, but there have been some awesome activities.

Sammy,
Thriving as usual it sounds; no suprise to the people that know you well. I think it is a testament to you that your limited language skills have not inhibited your ability to interact and communicate through wrestling, labor and good will. Im sure you learned the skills of non-verbal communication during your time in Honduras so this is probably easy for you now. Im glad to know you are getting along well with our Estonian family and I am glad you are taking advantage of such a unique international opportunity. Enjoy yourself this summer and I will try to touch base with you when possible. I think it is insightful of you to log this summer’s adventure in this way. It will be a memoir that you can look back on in the future and remember details that the mind tends to leak over time! Im proud of you and look forward to seeing you this fall when you return.

Hi Sam! Your dad called and left us your website information. What a great way for you to stay in touch … the marvels of technology huh? Well Max and Hayden were delivered to NIC last night for wrestling camp. We didn’t get HQD there until quite late (8:30), because we were up at the lake until late afternoon and then Morgan also had check in at GU basketball camp for the same time period. The room accomodations at NIC are in the same dorm as in the past, but there are 6 people in their room. At first it was Hayden, Max, Jay S., Ben S., and 2 guys HQD didn’t know. And then Hayden and Max were moved out to a room with Jordan G., Mike McGhee, Farley and one other guy. They are low in the pecking order (age), so their accomodations ended up being the FLOOR! Last week was Hoopfest! We had a pretty victorious weekend. Both Payton and Morgan’s teams went undefeated and won their brackets. Hayden’s team ended up winning the consolation bracket (King of the Losers)with the help of Max P. It was an extremely hot weekend, upper 90s and on the asphalt into the triple digits. We’ve had a streak of hot weather ever since shortly before Hoopfest and into today. Hayden started his summer job a couple of weeks ago. He’s working for Tony, with our guys. Jessie has been picking him up as early as 5:15 AM. I’m not sure how long it will be able to last. The football coaches expect to see the players in the gym a minimum of 3 times per week, which their designated hours are 9-11, plus he and Max enrolled in the Rockwood Clinic performance enhancement clinic that is 2 days per week, wrestling camp this week, and football camp in 2 weeks, and then football practice starts mid august. We’ll see I guess. It sure sounds like you’re having a fun time. I think its so interesting to be in the midst of a foreign culture. Especially when you have hosts that have taken such a personal interest as your’s seem to have. Later this month Harley and I will be taking a trip ourselves. We’re going to be in France and Italy for a couple of weeks. Should be very enjoyable. Well Hayden will be excited to touch base with you just as soon as he gets home. You take care, and I’ll continue to read your blog!
